CTUIR Fish and Wildlife Program

Fisheries is responsible for co-managing with state and federal agencies fisheries resources on the mainstem Columbia and Snake Rivers and tributaries for use by Tribal members. Their activities include fish and habitat research, protection, harvesting, transportation and artificial production for the anadromous fisheries in these waters.

Fisheries provides staff assistance to the Fish and Wildlife Committee. Also, the fisheries program staffs a field office in LaGrande, Oregon, that performs research under the Lower Snake River Compensation Plan.

The following CTUIR Fisheries Program data sets are available:

Escapement data - Carcass and Redd Surveys    Umatilla and Walla Walla Watershed data (1987 - 2011).

Fish Weir data Data collected from 2004 - 2006 at Catherine Creek (Grande Ronde River Basin) and the Upper Grande Ronde River Fish Weir.

Lamprey data Lamprey electroshocking data (1998-2003) and lamprey portable assessment trap data (1997-2007).

Pit Tag data Pit tag data collected in the Umatilla and Walla Walla basins.

Telemetry data Steelhead telemetry data collected between 2001 and 2007 (Walla Walla Basin). Umatilla Basin telemetry data from 2009 - 02/26/2010 .

Fish Passage Steelhead counts from Three Mile Dam on the Umatilla River (05/20/2010  - 05/26/2011).
